Privacy Policy

vibefeed.in ("we", "us", "the site") is operated as an independent web project. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it. We try to keep it short and human-readable.

The short version

• All calculator inputs and outputs run entirely in your browser. We never see, store, or transmit your numbers.
• We use Google Analytics 4 with anonymised IP for aggregated visit metrics (pages viewed, country, device — never personal identity).
• We use Google AdSense to show ads. AdSense uses cookies to personalise ads based on your past visits. You can opt out (see below).
• If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email is stored by Buttondown (our email service provider). You can unsubscribe at any time.
• We do not sell your data. We do not have a database of visitors.

What we collect (and don't)

Calculator inputs

Every calculator on this site (SIP, EMI, Income Tax, GST, Capital Gains, etc.) computes results in your own browser using JavaScript. The numbers you enter — your salary, EMI amount, investment values — never leave your device. We have no way to access them.

Browsing analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with the anonymize_ip setting enabled. This means Google truncates the last octet of your IP address before storing it, so it cannot be used to identify you. We see aggregated data such as:

• Which pages are most viewed
• How long visitors spend on a page
• Where visitors come from (country, referring site)
• Which device / browser is used (e.g. "mobile Chrome on Android")

We do not collect your name, email, phone, or any directly identifying information through analytics.

Newsletter subscription

If you enter an email in the "Sunday Newsletter" form, that email is sent to our email service provider (Buttondown — Buttondown privacy policy). We use it only to deliver the newsletter. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email.

Cookies

Cookies set on your browser when you visit:

• Theme preference (localStorage): remembers if you chose dark or light mode
• Language preference (localStorage): remembers if you toggled to Hindi
• Google Analytics: _ga, _ga_* cookies (24 months) — anonymous visitor identifier
• Google AdSense: ad personalisation cookies (varies by user choice)

You can clear cookies any time via your browser settings, or use a private/incognito window to avoid them.

Google AdSense and ad personalisation

We use Google AdSense to display ads on this site. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies (the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via the aboutads.info consumer choice page.

Some ads may be clearly marked as such; others are visually integrated. We never endorse a specific advertiser.

Your rights under India's DPDP Act 2023

If you are a data principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

• Access information about whether your personal data is being processed
• Correction or erasure of your personal data
• Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)
• Grievance redressal — write to us at the email below

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with the site in a way that requires action, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves (e.g. if we add a new third-party tool). The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter or via a banner on the site.
